Stopping in to See The Switch

Markfood

The new Cajun smokehouse The Switch has been on our radar for a LONG time so you can imagine our excitement when it finally opened. We actually went out of the way on our trip to the coast to swing by Dripping Springs for lunch just so we could give them a try when they opened up.

After eating here I feel pretty confident that this place is going to be a hit. The space itself if really well done and it’s clearly made with the intention of having people meet their friends and hang out with some good food. I will admit that I was a little disappointed that the Cajun food wasn’t available until after 4:00 pm, but we still got to try a po boy that is amazing. It’s what I would think is a perfect fusion of the Texas smokehouse barbecue and Cajun seafood. The fried shrimp mixed with pulled pork That shrimp po boy with pulled pork is messy and great with the brisket debris adding a ton of flavor. It does get a little soggy so I wish they would either use a crustier bread or maybe tone down the amount of gravy, but the flavor is great.

We’ll definitely be back, especially since we head out towards Dripping Springs a lot for work or meeting friends that live in that general direction. I feel pretty sure that it’s going to be a hit with the locals in Belterra and be full on an average night.
